Ansoft has answers for engineers who design electrical hardware, including cellular phones, satellite communications equipment, computer circuit boards, and motors. The company's electronic design automation (EDA) software analyzes electromagnetic interaction and helps design and test devices such as integrated circuits, antenna and radar systems, and microwave components. It also makes electromechanical software (EM) for representing and modeling electric or magnetic field behavior. Ansoft sells worldwide to clients in a wide range of industries; customers have included Boeing, Intel, and Ford. Founded in 1989, the company was acquired in 2008 by rival ANSYS for $832 million.
