Braintech could be the brain behind the brawn in robotics. The company's eVisionFactory software is sold to manufacturers who use it to manage the operation of vision-guided robots (VGRs) used in assembly lines. Braintech has partnered with ABB to develop the TrueView VGR system for automotive manufacturing applications. Auto and auto parts makers who have installed a VGR system include Ford, General Motors, Delphi, and Toyota. Braintech has also participated in developing the Cobuss (Community of Businesses Using Support Systems) technical support software tool. Frederick Weidinger, Braintech's chairman, president, and CEO, resigned in 2010, remaining on the job until a successor is designated.
