Mike McDerment, FreshBooks' co-founder, found himself frustrated with the current state of invoicing and accounting for a small business owner like himself and decided that there must be a better way. Fresh off the heels of an accidental overwrite of an invoice template, he was spurred to action and created V1 of what ultimately became the FreshBooks platform.
From the humble beginnings in his parent's basement to a company of 700+ employees around the world, FreshBooks continues to push for better ways to approach cloud-based accounting for business owners and their accountants alike. More than 30 million people in 160+ countries have used FreshBooks to make things like invoicing, expenses, payments, and financial reporting easier.
