Global News Enterprises picks up digital foreign news coverage where traditional US news organizations leave off. Doing business as GlobalPost, the company publishes news reports from about 70 correspondents around the world covering international political, sports, business, and technology news for a US audience. Its Web site generates revenue primarily through advertising; GlobalPost also offers a subscription service. In addition, the company syndicates its news reports to broadcasters, newspaper publishers, and other Internet news distributors. President and CEO Philip Balboni co-founded Global News in 2008; the company's Web site was launched in early 2009.
