Learning Beyond the Spectrum is a woman-owned ABA therapy and developmental services provider based in Goleta, California, founded by Dr. Stephanie Ross, BCBA, PhD. What began as a small clinic has grown over eight years into a thriving practice, now operating out of a larger clinical space complete with multiple treatment rooms, comfortable staff areas, and a devoted team that shows up for each other and for the families they serve.
Dr. Ross brings decades of experience in behavior intervention and family services, having worked across Southern California and New York City — including helping build a model Medicaid program for children and adults with developmental disabilities. Her commitment to this work is both professional and personal; as a mother of a child with autism, she understands firsthand what families navigate and what truly exceptional care requires. That perspective, alongside her PhD in Applied Behavior Analysis earned in 2024, shapes everything about the way LBS is run.
At LBS, we serve children with autism and other developmental disabilities, delivering individualized care in homes, schools, and community settings. Our services include ABA therapy, parent support and training, behavior consultation, and school-based services — all grounded in evidence-based, neurodiversity-affirming practices and a genuine belief that lasting change is possible.
We've worked hard to build a team culture that feels like family. Staff are mentored from day one, supported through RBT certification, and given a clear path to grow. We believe the people doing this work deserve as much care and investment as the kids they serve.
