Founded in 1717 and based in Osaka, Japan, ONO is an R&D-oriented pharmaceutical company committed to creating innovative medicines in areas of high unmet need: oncology, neurology, immunology, and specialty. We are strengthening our drug discovery capabilities by delving into the biology of human disease with the aim of discovering new drugs that satisfy unmet medical needs. Our goal is to discover and pursue innovative medicines by utilizing a variety of cutting-edge internal and external technologies, such as informatics and human disease modeling. In addition, ONO is working to expedite clinical development and improve the success rate of drug candidates in order to deliver our proprietary and in-licensed compounds to patients around the world. Recently, we embarked on a strategy to become a global pharmaceutical leader that can compete on the world stage. We opened offices in Taiwan, South Korea, Europe and the U.S. to establish development, launch, and marketing capabilities outside of Japan. Our goal is to be a global specialty pharmaceutical company that competes on the global stage with new and innovative medicines that meet unmet medical needs.
