The group, which uses the trade name VolkerWessels, is made up of about 100 companies overseen by a board of management. The group works in all aspects of construction, mainly in five sectors including building and property development in the Netherlands, civil engineering, roads, and rail, infrastructure, technology and telecommunications, infrastructure and land development in North America, and supplies and services. The companies focus on the Dutch market but also operate in the UK, Canada, and the US. CVC Capital Partners owns about 43% of the company.
