think3 thinks 3-D should be easy. The company's thinkdesign mechanical computer-aided design (CAD) software is used for 2-D and 3-D drafting, modeling, and rendering. think3 also offers software that allows collaboration across engineering teams, as well as consulting services, support, and training. Its products are used in the design of everything from household appliances to guitars and auto parts. Customers have included BMW, Pfaltzgraff, and Trek Bicycle. think3 was founded in 1979. Crosslink Capital, New Enterprise Associates, and Norwest Venture Partners were among the company's investors. In 2011 think3 filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
