Python Automation & Data Engineer

SALARY: $900 USD

We are seeking a highly technical Python Automation & Data Engineer to support backend automation, data pipeline development, AI integrations, and reporting infrastructure for a fast-paced consumer products organization supporting Kroger and national retail brands.

This is NOT a traditional front-end data analyst role.

We are looking for someone who understands how systems connect together behind the scenes — including data ingestion, ETL workflows, automation deployment, validation logic, APIs, SQL databases, and Docker-based application deployment.

The ideal candidate is highly technical, process-oriented, and capable of independently building and supporting scalable automation workflows and backend reporting systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Python automation scripts and backend workflows
• Develop and support ETL/data pipeline processes
• Extract, transform, and validate data from multiple systems and APIs
• Build backend processes supporting dashboards, reporting, and automation initiatives
• Deploy and maintain Docker-based automation projects
• Work with SQL databases and connected systems
• Troubleshoot data discrepancies, automation failures, and system issues
• Support AI/LLM integrations and automation workflows
• Collaborate with internal engineering and analytics teams to improve operational efficiency
• Support automation projects related to reporting, post-promotion analysis, and operational analytics

Required QualificationsTechnical Skills

• Strong Python development experience
• Strong SQL/database experience
• Experience building ETL/data pipelines
• Experience working with APIs and data integrations
• Familiarity with Docker and deployment concepts
• Experience validating and troubleshooting data workflows
• Understanding of backend systems and data architecture
• Experience working with automation workflows and scheduled processes

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, automation engineering, analytics engineering, or backend development
• Experience supporting production environments and operational workflows
• Experience working independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Power BI or Metabase
• Experience with ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server
• Experience with Azure, Linux, or virtual machine environments
• Experience with AI/LLM integrations (Claude, OpenAI APIs, etc.)
• Experience with automation frameworks or workflow orchestration tools
• Familiarity with ERP systems or operational reporting environments

Pay: Up to Php55,000.00 per month
