* It’s changing, which naturally causes some disruption, but the technology had been stuck in time. * It’s easy to do good work and be recognized for it. * Decent pay. * Flexibility to work remotely (team-defined): no fixed company-wide office days and no minimum in-office requirement. * Promotion is relatively easy up to the senior level; beyond that, advancement depends on available positions, which is reasonable. That said, proactive, high-performing people can still find opportunities. * Nice people to work with. * Now that they are shifting from people managers to engineering managers may be a good time to make a difference.

* Lack of vision and direction: no clear targets, and each team is left to figure things out on its own, which leads to everyone moving in different directions. * Excessive focus on process over results. * The overall bar is quite low.
