Gives you a very easy entry into the world of IT and allows you to hit the ground running with alot of different systems to support, really sets up your skill level.
Contras
Bare minimum pay comparatively
Poorly managed with alot of office politics
If the directors take a disliking to you then you will quickly get the hard shoulder
During the time i was there staffing was in short supply with very low moral leading to some very intense and prolonged periods of high workload.
Often expected to work unpaid overtime or go "above & beyond" for no benefit to yourself, refusal can again lead to you being on the directors bad books/on the way out.
No formal training offered
Low staff led to low support which led to bad reputations with the clients which then led to a more tense reception and manner in calls from customers.
Cctv in the main support office which is continously monitored in a near police state environment, leading to a culture of staff taking serious work conversations behind closed doors, further fueling the previously mentioned office politics
