There are plenty of intelligent and capable people across the business, and the product itself is strong.
Free class in micromanagement, and great opportunities for learning patience while getting told off.
Contras
Senior leadership is by far the biggest issue. Experienced employees are regularly replaced with people who appear to share similar backgrounds to leadership, despite lacking relevant experience for the roles they are hired into. Priorities shift constantly, accountability is inconsistent, and decision-making often feels disconnected from the operational realities of the business.
There is a clear lack of understanding from leadership around several core functions of the company, yet major decisions continue to be made with little visible consideration for employee feedback or expertise. This has resulted in low morale and a widespread lack of confidence in leadership.
One CEO in particular has been a major factor in high staff turnover and the ongoing loss of employees. Excessive micromanagement. Excessive. Constant unnecessary meetings, and unprofessional behaviour have created an extremely difficult working environment. Interactions are frequently confrontational, and many employees appear stressed, disengaged, or concerned about speaking openly.
These are longstanding issues rather than short-term growing pains, and there appears to have been little effort to address them meaningfully. As a result, the culture has become increasingly negative and even hostile over time.
