Prós

Help simplify and automate complex process of determining solar installation and maintenance costs. Manually takes several days, but the ModSolar Platform reduces to a few minutes.

Contras

Management did not plan employee work loads. - They shifted the teams from one major project to the next every couple weeks on the whim mid-sprints, because of daily changing project priorities. - A major client would email me asking about the status of a project, that my manager had removed me from since I estimated it. Management should have notified the client that I was no longer on the project. - I stayed very late one evening into the next morning with my dev manager, and he did not even offer any dinner nor any type of food to continue work. - Management expected 24/7 server support from the dev team, but had not trained us how to access and manage the production servers. - Health benefits were lacking. The founders did not even use their own health benefits they offered their own company.

I learned a lot about the Solar industry. It was a great working experience. Mike Dershowitz was a font of incredible insights into the Solar Industry.

Contras

I was a contract sales specialist and even though I was contracted many times, I wish at the time I was a full-time sales specialist.

Prós

Casual working environment, regular hours, near Reading Terminal Market, and the company does have great potential if they figure out their internal problems. Their software platform is pretty good, though it could be better, and it is helping accelerate the deployment of distributed solar panels.

Contras

No 401k and no unexpected benefits to make up for it, when I was there the company tried to grow too fast, the company culture was fractured, and their systems and processes weren't scalable, though they are trying to improve on that, which is essential to their future.
