Contras
1) Radisys uses redundant proprietary tools to manage their systems. When the world has moved to git based repository management, Radisys still is stuck with Rational Rose Clearcase. Their build systems and code management is based on Windows systems, not want you would expect if you worked on opensource Linux based systems. 2) Since it has inherent Windows OS based systems, email style frowned upon by the open source community such as "top posting" is highly encouraged at Radisys. Windows Outlook never formats mail properly and email sent from open source systems such as Thunderbird or Evolution is totally mangled. This is enough for the management to pull you up and give you warnings. 3) Radisys has a laptop culture. It is common to see almost all employees roaming around with their laptops, whether they truly require it or not. It's like you see women these days walking with their phones to their ear for added security. Carrying a laptop around, it seems, boosts the dwindling morale! This also has the disadvantage of taking work home. 4) Employees are discouraged from installing a Linux only machine. Instead virtual machines such as Virtualbox/VMware are used to host Linux OS. There is this unbreakable dependency on all things Windows. 5) Unnecessary meetings are the norm rather than the exception. And Hindi is the official language at Radisys. 6) By the time you resign you would have earned a honourable Phd in "Office Politics and Back Stabbing".
