      Prós

      The work is on-call, based on staffing needs and the schedule is very flexible if you go to school or have kids in daycare. Most gigs are close to skytrain or transit. Payroll always does a good job with accurate pay checks.

      Contras

      There are too many on call employees and no follow up when employees behave badly. I experienced the worst bullying I’ve ever received in the work place (possibly my life), several times within a shift, on many many occasions; If you’re a women, it’s even worse. When complaints are made about mistreatment, you are usually ignored or they try to bribe you with a sweet gig to sweep it under the rug but evidently don’t deal with the issue. I stayed because it gave me the stagehand experience I needed but ultimately left because it wasn’t worth the emotional abuse and the time spent crying over being abused by other employees and even on occasion office staff.

      Hi: We regret the bad experiences you had while working at RIGGIT. Since, in addition to contacting Glassdoor, you also reached out directly to one of our Labour Team we can assure you that the company (and the industry) has changed a great deal since you worked your last shift in October of 2013. None of the current Labour Team were working at RIGGIT during that time and I can assure you that we take issues around bullying and harassment very seriously. Of course we are not perfect but we are continually looking for ways to make the work experience here at RIGGIT more positive and inclusive. Thank you for the feedback and we wish you all the best in your current career.

      company is tenured in the event industry, with talented skilled workers, all unique in background and profile, interesting outlook. easy foot-in-the-door to the industry. passionate skilled workers, working efficiently, and getting the job done is always fascinating. the candidate pool is very diverse

      Contras

      highly NOT recommended for those who seek a meaningful career/professional designation, mentorship, or just a trustworthy/good faith employer. Not a recommended healthy work environment for long term work and/or for developing young/next generation workers. company still partially runs on an old fashion model, with the old school nepotism and hierarchy, priority parking spots...(yes still exists..), zero career/people development in certain departments and zero human rights compliance/knowledge share. personal feelings and biases, especially of those of "senior management", overrule basic operational policies and procedures, and sadly, overrule general good faith and integrity. way below average benefit package, little to cover, more out of pocket.

      We understand that you may be upset that we terminated the relationship and that your time with us was so short. We also understand how you may feel justified in your one star rating as is your right to do so. However we do feel it is important to keep to the facts and not let personal feelings get in the way of accuracy. Much of what you note in the “cons” section are simply untrue statements and gross exaggeration. As per your "pros," we take great pride in our "diverse, talented, passionate, skilled workers, working efficiently and getting the job done," and agree that workers have an "easy foot-in-the-door to the industry." As you made note of while you were with the company, our policies regarding inclusion, diversity, and human rights compliance are very comprehensive, up to date, and under constant scrutiny. All but three of our full time staff have been hired from within the organization and the average full time person has been with Riggit full time for over seven years. Despite your short tenure with the company we wish you all the best and great success in your future.
