Low Job Security and Constant Project Instability
Prós
Salary can be good for LATAM if you know how to negotiate.
Contras
You are essentially tied to a project, and once it ends or priorities change you can be let go very quickly. It is not uncommon to see people leave within a few months, sometimes shortly after joining. Job security is extremely low, and decisions around termination can feel abrupt and poorly justified. While contracts may suggest structure and protection, in practice they can be bypassed when convenient. Feedback processes lack transparency, and negative feedback may surface without prior discussion, making it difficult to improve or even understand expectations. At times, it can feel like decisions are made first and justified afterward. There is a strong push for early and frequent feedback, even before fully understanding the team or context. Instead of helping collaboration, this can create unnecessary tension and discomfort. Projects are often unstable, with shifting scope or sudden cancellations. The expectation is to deliver a high volume of work at a very fast pace, and if you cannot keep up, you are easily replaced. This approach frequently leads to quality issues and a reactive work environment. Overall, it feels like a high-pressure environment with constantly changing expectations and limited support. Many of the positive reviews seem to come from newer employees and may not reflect the longer-term reality.
