I completed an initial 30-minute Teams interview with an internal HR recruiter. An AI bot (Fireflies AI) attended the meeting without prior notification/consent and recorded/transcribed my interview. With the exception of the AI bot, it was a typical 1st round interview. I was invited back for a second interview, with the hiring manager, which they canceled 1.5 hours prior to my scheduled interview time. In the current hiring climate, I did appreciate the cancellation notification as some employers are ghosting candidates without notice. Hopefully, 3Si will start notifying candidates of the AI bot in advance, and ask for candidate consent. Asking for candidate consent would have been the better course of action and the more appropriate thing to do.
