I traveled from London (2.5 hours) for an interview on the night before and put myself up in a hotel. The interview was arranged with two people and I. However this changed on the morning of the interview to somebody else. Considering this meeting was arranged two weeks prior, I felt this was unprofessional as I had already built some rapport on my first telephone interview, so it defiantly would have made sense if we met with the original person. The meeting consisted of mainly talking, this is to see how you build rapport with customers, this went well. Towards the end, a role play task is given, you are given 15 minutes and a sheet of paper with a scenario regarding a boiler that needs to be sold and how you can make the most amount of commission out of the customer depending on the product you sell. I felt it would make sense if the sales pitch was about telecoms as this is what the vacancy entailed, not boiler sales. I found this strange as although I have a sales background, the job description states that training of their product is provided and I do feel you are judged highly on the 5 minute boiler sales pitch. I didn’t do my best with the sales pitch, although was still surprised, that my full potential was not seen. Unfortunately I was not a successful candidate and generally can not understand why as I have all of the contributes 4com would want. Although do have a feeling that 4com employs friends, not giving fair opportunity to the public.

Had a very positive phone interview, and she said she was keen to invite me to the office for a face to dace interview. She asked about my notice period which I said was about a month. She said I would miss the next ‘intake’ but would contact me in a couple weeks. I didn’t hear anything so I messaged back, and she responded like we had not spoke before. I reconfirmed I was interested in the next steps, and she said she would get back to me. Several months and heard nothing. Very strange and seemed fairly disorganised.
