Spoke with the recruiter first, and then in person with the manager who had not prepared anything for the interview and seemed to have been looking at my resume the first time. Asking questions on a whim and asked random questions whilst admitting they had nothing to do with the hiring process nor the role. Also mentioned during the interview that another candidate was being considered, not because they were good for the role at all, simply because they worked at the company before in a different department. They ended up giving a take home assignment to do which was done perfectly with ease. Ended up saying I was not selected and would no reason nor feedback as to why. Assuming they went with a former employee which they deemed unqualified.
