      Entrevista

READ PLEASE: I don't normally take time to post reviews like this, but people need to know this. That's how bad it is. I applied to this position because I wanted more experience into the event production industry. I had worked on event production and venue coordination before so I thought this would be a good fit. The events that they are ACTUALLY talking about (which they purposefully are vague about initially) are promotional stands at gas stations and tire shops selling car wax and window repairs. I was told they do bigger "events" too, but only a few times a year. So if you're looking for event production, stay away. This is a Multi-level Marketing operation (google it). They conduct the whole interview talking about how much money the higher up people are making and all the cool benefits and what not. If you're looking to sell car wax and window repairs to people pumping gas and slowly work your way up depending on how well your sales do, then go for it. I'm not trying to say that this is wrong or a bad line of work, I'm just saying that they need to be upfront about what this job really is. I wish I had known more about multi-level marketing (please google it) before getting roped into this. However, if you're into that line of work, the interview was straightforward but tiring. Phone interview, face-to-face, onsite (at a gas station, Sam's Club, etc.), then a few email questions. I had completed everything and then got an offer (which at this point it had clicked to me what this whole operation was; I'm sorry for myself for not realizing earlier). I asked for at least a day to think about it to give my response, then my recruiter started to get impatient with me and asked why I was hesitant. Usually employers, at least the ones I've worked for, give some time for responses. I was honest and said that after seeing the gas station sales, I realized that this wasn't what I initially thought it was. Then the manager got straight up rude in my opinion and said, "You don't have a job now, so I don't understand why you wouldn't take this [my name]." It's true that I'm unemployed, but saying that to a candidate is unprofessional, rude, and a big turn off. I declined right away after that. Read all the other reviews and interview comments, it's all the same. If you wanna be part of multi-level marketing, go for it. If not, don't believe the sugar-coated things they say. If it sounds too good to be true (which this did to me), do more research on it. They're just scouting for more recruits.
