I was contacted right after submitting my CV and went in for an interview the day after.
The JD is a managerial position but the interview was actually for a head of department position. They never mentioned that prior to my arrival, of course. That was a red flag to me but I went with the flow since the job has potential.
Was interviewed by the CEO and observed by the HR lady and VP of something lady.
Things seemed to go well. But near the end, they asked me about my marital status which was pretty inappropriate. I wasn't comfortable sharing though.
The CEO even asked me to connect on LinkedIn for further discussion and questions (which I did connect with and send out my questions. Never got a reply in that regard.)
Upon seeing me out, the HR lady was kinda rude (you don't turn your back to say goodbye to someone)
Over 2 weeks went by with no update. I reached out to them three times asking for an update and finally, someone from HR called to inform me that my experience wasn't relevant... That was quite hilarious to hear.
I suppose they didn't feel too bad wasting my time and stringing me along for over 2 weeks.
Combine this with the confusing intention of trying to substitute a head of dept position with (assumingly) someone with a lower pay expectation... I guess it's true that my experience is not relevant.
