Went through a total of 3 interviews. The first was with a hiring manager who straight asked me for a presentation of my research and past project, which they never mentioned. Very unprofessional and rude since everyone would expect behavioral questions in the first round. The second round was with someone on the team. He was easy going and everything went smoothly. The third round was with another person on the team who apparently had very little knowledge of the questions he was asking. It was hard to understand his questions. The overall experience is bad.

Applied via reference from an ex-colleague. Initially, I was told there would be only four rounds of interviews, but by the end, there were seven rounds. The whole process felt very unstructured. After round six, the HR told me that they were ready to make me an offer and asked for my current salary. Once I explained my current salary, the HR stopped replying to me. Then, after about a week, the HR told me there would be another round (which I agreed to because of the sunk cost fallacy). In the last round, no relevant questions were asked, and the interview concluded in 20 minutes. After this, they made me wait for another three weeks to tell me they were not going to extend an offer because I lacked knowledge of the chemistry involved in the vapor deposition process (Of course I lacked this knowledge... I applied for the job of a mechanical engineer and don’t come from the semiconductor industry.) The whole process was a very big waste of my time.
