I applied online through ASML career portal with Resume and Cover Letter. It took them 2.5 weeks to go through my application and invite with their team of engineers. It was 2 hours interview through MS Teams with 2 teams, each consisted of two people so In total, Four people took the interview. Now, After the interview, I was promised by the people that they will get back to me quickly as they had a very good impression. Later, next week, HR sent me an email that I should expect the feedback on week 32 which was 3 weeks after the interview. When week 32 came, I received an email from HR that they are sorry for the inconvenience and they meant to say week 34. So, the feedback was again delayed. When week 34 came and I didn't receive any feedback, I sent an email to ask for feedback. Finally, on week 35, I received an email that they have hired another candidate and they could not get back to me earlier because hiring manager was on holliday and the HR person was sick during week 34.
Now, Here is the Interesting part. After my interview till week 34, The time span is 5 weeks approximately. During this period, I was observing that ASML HR team was posting about this job position again and again on LinkedIn and this job posting was on the top of the search list because It was promotoed. This implies that while they were using Stalling tactics to keep me waiting, they were trying to hunt for more candidates. Now, My issue is that If they didn't want to hire me, they should have told me way earlier. If they were confused, they should have arranged another interview to go deep into my competencies. Nonetheless, The whole process exposed their true nature as a company and how much they respect the people interested in working for them. That was utter waist of time!
