Project (small API with strict constraints) as part of recruitment process. You spend a lot of effort on application, and receive soulless, useless “feedback” email if rejected. One other thing I’ve noticed is that HR girls are pretty bored at any university fair and very unenthusiastic and uninformed about the summer internship they do yearly. Overall, I felt the lack of respect for applicants’ time and energy.

Technical Java interview for basic file parsing and getting certain data, sortings and filters out of the data. Use Streams for reading the file, partial sortings and serializing to json objects, returning the json and I think i hit the word limit.

File full of fictional job candidates, their points on their technical problems, emails, names, and the dates they submited their problems at, can have repeated emails, only the emails are used as id's.
Give total number of unique candidates, average price of the top half, then re-adjust the grades to give an extra point to those that submitted on the first day (considered the day when the first candidate submitted it) and mallus point to those that submitted in the last day. If they all submitted on the same day: no changes. Restort them and show top 3 after the adjustment
