      I recently applied to a Senior Financial Analyst position, and within 24 hours received a request to schedule an interview. I was impressed with such an efficient response time. The interview request was scheduled via an HR platform with preselected time ranges of availability. I chose the first available day provided, which was exactly one week after scheduling. On the morning of my interview, I received an automated email saying that they were moving forward with other candidates. However, I didn't receive any communication that my interview was cancelled. A few hours after their initial email, and three hours before my interview, I received a reminder email with all the details of how to call into the interview. Then, one hour before my interview was meant to start I received an email (automated) notifying me that it had been cancelled and I should remove it from my calendar. Ultimately, I was anticipating the interview being cancelled after the first email I received. However, in this scenario I feel that Abbott overused and relied too heavily on automated systems on something that directly impacts people's schedules and personal lives. In an organization of their size, I'm sure that they expect professionalism and strong communication from their employees and future candidates, but seem to disregard any form of human communication when it comes to their first impression.
