Entrevista
I initially applied on a Tuesday and by that Thursday I received an email to schedule a phone interview with a recruiter for the following Monday. We spoke for about 30 minutes on the phone interview. And by Wednesday I received another email to inviting me for the Finalist Day at the designated school. I gave them 3 dates(which were all the next week) and I went in that following Wednesday. The recruiter took me on a tour of the school and I sat in on classes, observed and took notes. After the tour I was interviewed by the recruiter and a school leader. They asked me several questions about my strengths and weaknesses. We also did several scenarios related to behavioral issues. After that I interviewed with the principal who was just such a delight and conveyed true passion for his job. He too asked me re-enact some situations and also asked me some questions and I was able to ask him questions as well. We were talking so much we went over time. By the next morning I received a call from the principal.

What did you not like while you were observing our school and system this morning?
There’s an initial phone call that is first part of the interview, and then you complete the second part of the application where you answer interview questions via video. It’s not live but you record yourself answering the questions within a certain time limit. Afterwards, once you get accepted by the program you get an offer from a school and you do one final interview (supposed to be around 90 minutes with demo lesson, role play, questions about your teaching philosophies/techniques) with the school’s administration.

Why do you want to work with/for Achievement First?
The process was very organized and timely. It was a very professional process. They were clear on their expectations for the interview process. At the beginning of the interview I was able to present my demo lesson and received quality feedback.

Entrevista
After submitting your resume and answering some questions you're asked to complete a video interview. If you're moved forward, you have a short phone interview before being moved onto the finalist steps. Before the finalist interview, there's a finalist prep day so that you're prepared for the final interview. In the final interview, you're asked to teach a 5-10 minute lesson plan to the interviewers.
