Entrevista
This role was for the new R&D team being setup in the USA, San Jose office:
1. Hiring Manager Interview 45mins (Went over 90mins).
No response for 2-3 weeks.
2. Technical Round 1 (Robotics Concepts, C++ coding skills)
Interview with the Indian team happened at 9:00pm to 10:30pm PDT. In depth questions on my experience and relevant concepts, followed by C++ basics check and simple surprise C++ live coding test.
After this the team demands to meet me within the next couple of days for another round.
3. Coding Round (C++, ROS)
The hiring manager calls my phone directly and gives me a verbal offer and informs that I had to meet the CEO and the Head of HR before that a final offer is made.
4. Meet with the CEO.
The meeting goes well and the CEO assumes I joined the team already, shares his background with me and learns more about me.
The team goes dark for 3 more weeks. Then they schedule an interview with the head of HR.
5. HR interview . (My background, behavioral questions.)
2 weeks later hiring Manager again calls me and reconfirms his verbal offer and asks for my expected salary, potential start date. He also wanted my past pay stubs and called it common practice in California USA. When I expressed my confusion to providing it,( as California laws prohibits employers from asking my pay history) the hiring manager poses a question "Are you interested in working for us?".
After keeping the candidate on hook for 48 days after the initial verbal offer was made, a rejection was sent from the HR after multiple follow ups.
