I was reached out to on LinkedIn by someone from their HR team and had a few follow up calls with folks ranging from senior level HR to BizDev and Account personnel that would ultimately make up the team I would potentially be reporting to.
The calls were easy enough, just digging into my background and current role as well as what could or would be expected of the person for the role they were looking to fill.
I eventually also went to their workspace in NY (a WeWork location) and met with some additional folks. One interview here was very laid back, by someone who was not very senior in the company from what I remember. The other was with someone more senior level and was less focused on my background and more about abstract questions like what trends am I seeing in the industry and how I would respond to them.
Everything up until the last person I spoke to onsite was fairly straightforward and easy. Your typical questions around my background and my interest in the role. The last person I spoke with was definitely putting me through my paces and requiring a bit more abstract thought, admittedly not something I was prepared for, but I think it went well enough.
Afterwards, I was supposed to have what I believe was the final phone call, with the CEO. The HR rep that I was in contact with through the entire process thus far was going to schedule the call, and after some conflicts and a reschedule, there was a date that was settled on. Unfortunately, the call never happened. Not sure if communication lines got crossed, but I was never provided the CEO's contact info so I imagine he was supposed to call me, and never did.
I followed up with the HR rep to let him know of the mix up (this was about a week ago) and have never heard back. All in all, very unprofessional in my opinion considering they gave every indication of consistently being satisfied with my answers and interviews. If they indeed went with another candidate, an email to notify couldn't hurt. More importantly than that though is the fact that it has been almost a week since I notified the HR rep that the call with the CEO that he scheduled never happened to no fault of my own and still have not heard back.

Role-related questions as well as ones that tested technical ad tech aptitude at a high level. Also more nebulous ones like what trends are you seeing in the industry and how you would respond to them.

This last bit of handling and miscommunication left a bad taste in my mouth, even If it was indeed a mix up or some lines of communication were crossed.
