Entrevista
Round 1 = met the hiring manager in SG
Round 2 = met the global HR manager in SG
Round 3 = met the APAC president in SG
Round 4 = met the Head of Partnership APAC in SG
Round 5 = evening Skype video call with SVP of Account Management (based in Amsterdam)
Round 6 (take 1) = 7:15am Skype video call with the COO (based in the US) who stood me up and didn't dial in. I patiently waited 45 minutes before messaging the hiring manager who was on leave at the time only to find out the COO was 'attending to technical issues'.
When the COO was eventually available for take 2 of the Skype video interview at round 6, the following happened:
- No apology or reason for standing me up.
- Interviewer was distracted and frantically typing away (not taking notes of me speaking) as I answered his questions and also noticed his eyes looking at other parts of his screen while I spoke. I didn't care if it was deliberately done because simple common courtesy was ignored here. Frankly the most insincere and rudest interviewer I've come across in my working life.
- The good impression Adyen gave me in the first 5 rounds went down the toilet because of this guy's conduct. By the end of the Skype interview, it felt really impersonal and I felt my time was wasted.
On a side note, the 6th round interview (take 1) was 3 days before my wedding so trying to change jobs wasn't the only thing on my mind.
In summary, if you're ok with round after round of interviews with no guarantee of the last round interviewer showing up on time, this is your company.
Having heard other candidate interviews with Adyen (Singapore), there is a clear punctuality/attendance/communication issue so the only positive is that there is some consistency being shown here. Go back to basics, after all Adyen is Surinamese for "Start over again".

I was contacted by two different recruiters regarding two positions I had applied for, and unfortunately neither experience was positive.
For the first recruiter screening, the recruiter joined the Zoom call a few minutes late and seemed disengaged throughout the conversation. Most of the questions were very basic, there were no meaningful follow-up questions, and it didn't feel like my responses were being actively listened to. The interview ended about 10 minutes earlier than scheduled.
The second experience was more frustrating. The recruiter did not show up for our scheduled screening call and emailed me about 20 minutes after the start time to say that her previous meeting had run over. We agreed to reschedule to next day and she confirmed the time with me. But on the day of interview, she sent a calendar invite for a different time without first checking my availability.
I understand that schedules can change and unexpected conflicts happen. However, after multiple issues with communication and scheduling, I felt the process was disrespectful of candidates' time. As a result, I chose to decline the invite.
Based on my experience, Adyen may want to invest more attention in recruiter communication, candidate engagement, and professionalism during the early stages of the hiring process.

Clear and good process, knew what to expect. Process stated like on the website. Friendly contact with recruiter, but could've been a bit more responsive. Was nice getting to know the colleagues/team so fast.
