I was contacted for a phone interview. Once on the phone, I became confused as to why they bothered contacting me. The woman I spoke to asked if I "really had any recruiting experience", which the job description stated wasn't required for the trainee position. And she also asked if I "understood that I would have to relocate for the job", which given that I was applying to positions in a different city than I currently live in seemed to be a given. When I told her I wanted to be in the city she very adamantly insisted that their office was in Bala Cynwyd NOT the city, which is a negligible difference and also technically still Philadelphia. Ultimately I did not understand why she bothered calling me if she clearly felt that she had already decided I wasn't a good fit. She ended up telling me that "she'd send me the address and then I could think about it for a few days and let her knew if I was still interested." She never responded to my email affirmation that I was in fact interested still. Incredibly odd experience, she was very skeptical of a great deal of basic information about my application and I still do not understand why she wasted hers and my time by inviting me for a phone interview.
