      Entrevista

It's quite a long process: first there was talent acquisition/recruiter screening, followed by a call with hiring manager, then followed by another call with team's stakeholder, then there was a case study assignment and corresponding presentation to a panel, then last step was leadership interview.

      Entrevista

Airwallex has quite a lengthy interview process - 5 stages, 1st with the recruiter, then hiring manager, then additional stakeholders. I made it to interview 3. Some include case studies. The first interviews & interviewers were really professional. The recruiter does a good job at explaining the process, the company, understands the role and came across really smart. The second interview with the hiring manager was also really well done, interesting Qs and way of looking at things (eg. asked me to rate myself across 10 different skills and discuss them - which I think is a great way of gauging someones ability). My third interview (and unsurprisingly the one I didn't pass) was unfortunately not at the same calibre. The interviewer joined late, was clearly not listening to me as a I spoke (a lot of distracted looking to the side, reading my CV as I was talking, he obviously rushed from another meeting and was very unprepared), made a lot of presumptions about my experience, discounted my background and didn't really deviate from 1 Question he just kept going on about for 40 minutes. He described it as a 'workshopping' interview, but it wasn't well done. I know i'm guilty of also rushing in between meetings and interviews but I think it's basic courtesy to arrive on time and at least read your CV before joining.

Horrible interview experience. I never post on Glassdoor but I had such a bad time that this warrants it. The HR interviewer seemed completely disinterested and unfamiliar with the role they were hiring for. They misrepresented key aspects of the job and even claimed I lacked experience in something that is literally central to my current role, something clearly stated on my resume if they even bothered to read. What was most frustrating wasn’t the rejection... it was the feeling that the conversation wasn’t based on facts or curiosity, but on surface-level assumptions and an internal checklist I was never allowed to see. I left the call feeling like I hadn’t been evaluated for who I actually am or what I bring to the table, but by someone who hadn’t read my materials and didn’t understand the function they were hiring for. Candidates invest real time and effort into interviews. The least we deserve is an interviewer who’s prepared, present and respectful. All of which I can say was wholly absent from the process. And if this is an indicator of the company as a whole, well... good luck.

Thank you for taking the time to share your interview experience. The interaction you've described falls short of our standards. Our interviewers should be well-prepared, engaged, and knowledgeable about both the role and your background. Properly evaluating candidates requires focused attention to their qualifications and experience. Surface-level assessments that overlook information clearly stated on a resume don't serve anyone well. We're taking steps to strengthen our interview practices and ensure consistency in how we engage with potential team members across all departments and regions. We wish you the best in your job search.
