Interview consisted of multiple one on one interviews with stakeholders that would work with the position. After 5 different interviews, I was ghosted by the company and never heard from them as a follow-up.

I was contacted by a recruiter, who conducted the initial interview. He was very professional and we agreed to move on to the next round.
My next interview was with the hiring manager, who was also very professional and pleasant. Things were off to a good start. The next interview was with a technical resource and it was considerably more thorough. The technical resource was also very professional and pleasant. I then talked the initial recruiter and we discussed salary and overall compensation. I provided my target and goals and he agreed the position was in my range. I received an email from the initial recruiter saying that Akamai wanted to move on to the final round and schedule a panel interview. I then received another email from the initial recruiter saying that a second recruiter was taking over. I reached out the 2nd recruiter with my availability to for the panel interview, but communication broke down severely. The 2nd recruiter wanted to re-visit salary, compensation and the position. I eventually had a fairly lengthy call with the 2nd recruiter and now we were off by about 10k on the base salary. I agreed to continue the interview process, but conveyed my concern about the reduced compensation.
The panel interview was conducted, which went well and I was offered the position with a base salary 10k lower than my target. I attempted to negotiate with the 2nd recruiter and was able to get 20k of RSUs added, which vested over 4 years. I then accepted the offer, waited one week for my background to clear and then submitted my resignation to my current employer. My current employer countered with a better offer and I decided to stay. I immediately let the 2nd recruiter know that I planned on staying with an extremely professional thank you and decline email. I got absolutely no response - crickets! Talk about unprofessional. I couldn't let it go, so sent an additional email and eventually got a response from the 2nd recruiter. He said the reason that he didn't respond was due to a re-org and that I would've been reporting to a different group and manager. Uh OK???? I'm so glad I made the decision to stay. When was Akamai planning on telling me about reporting to a different group and manager - day one? What a complete unprofessional bait and switch. Potential employees beware. Akamai used to be the epitome of professionalism. I guess this is not the case these days.
