I recently had a disappointing experience with Akcelo's interview process. A creative delivery lead reached out to me via email to schedule a first interview for an art director role. The initial interview was scheduled for a Friday with two Associate Creative Directors. However, on Friday, the lead asked to reschedule for Monday, which was inconvenient but understandable.
What was truly unacceptable was receiving a default rejection email from the creative delivery lead just 40 minutes before the scheduled interview on Monday. There was no personalized message, no explanation, and certainly no apology for the inconvenience caused. This lack of communication and respect for my time left me feeling humiliated and disrespected.
As an interviewee, preparing for an interview requires a significant amount of time, effort, and emotional investment. To have that effort dismissed so casually reflects poorly on Akcelo's professionalism and consideration for candidates. It sends a message that they believe their time is more valuable than that of potential employees.
Overall, I was deeply disappointed by the lack of professionalism displayed by Akcelo throughout this process. I would caution other candidates to approach their interview process with caution and be prepared for potential last-minute changes or dismissive behavior.
