Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 3 meses. Fui entrevistado pela Alaco em mar. de 2021
Entrevista
Poor interview etiquette, poor company
PROS
Ranked in Chambers (newly created) list of litigation support and due diligence/business intelligence firms.
Classy website
Smart, informed people
Probably a decent stepping stone
CONS
Cagey when asked how business was doing during pandemic, suggesting most of their work relies on cash cow of high-churn due diligence reporting.
Made it to final round of interview process, then radio silence.
Throughout, most interviewers seemed disinterested in the hiring process; smugness overall. Entitled Oxbridge types; not personable and not proactive, not a good cultural sign.
Loads of assessments that don't really test how you'd actually perform in the job as advertised. For a (supposedly) managerial role, taking this many exams suggests you're basically just a glorified Analyst, and will be considered and treated just as disposably as an Analyst.
Have a look on LinkedIn. Quite a few have been promoted to Associates at Alaco, but they don't survive, let alone last. Even if they've been promoted through the firm, they leave within a year. Probably had enough of the culture after 3-4 years.
Bear in mind this is a firm of about 50 with 15 or so at Associate Dir/Director/C-Suite level. Big pinch at Associate level.
Largely a one-way process. Don't apply here if you're looking for a career or have experience, probably a good place to start in corporate investigations if you have no other experience.
I think the only reason a firm hires externally for a position at this level is to deal with its turnover problem at this level - a new hire is likely to stay longer than another.

Pergunta 1
Standard questions about your experience. What have you done and why is relevant.
2-3 hour written exam giving an exposition and analysis of sources as would be presented roughly in a client deliverable.
Short verbal exam on how you would approach a scenario/business research request from a client.
I had a remote interview scheduled with one of the directors. Then, approximately a month later, I was given a writing task to do which required analysis of facts provided. I never heard back from the firm after having submitted the writing task.
