The interview process contains many steps and the effort I put into them was definitely not respected. The first step is an interview where we get to know each other and it went very smoothly. The second step is writing a document to answer 5 questions. I wrote a document that resembles exactly how Alan writes their own documentation and gave well-written answers. I didn’t even get feedback about this step even though I asked for it twice. The third step was a live technical test where half the test was based on a topic and skillset that wasn’t even mentioned once in the job offer nor the previous steps. I still managed to get to the end and answer all the questions even if somewhat slowly. The recruitment process was stopped after this step with general conclusions made based on simple answers taken wildly out of context and proportion. I’m not sure I can even take them seriously at this point. They say they hire people not skills but still refuse people based on a learnable skill. They say they give feedback but still ignore your questions for feedback. When you read their blogs you’d think it’s a miracle company but I guess it’s just another insurance company

Exhausting and disappointing experience. Previously posted reviews (the long and frustrating ones) are true. Honesty is not valued. The process is very long. Interviewers generally gave constructive feedback and were positive and supportive. Early stages focus heavily on mission motivation, which seems irrelevant past the first stage. Unfortunately, the process doesn't evaluate your overall progress: there's no balance between past successes, a good impression, and minor missteps or misunderstandings - reflecting their culture and how engineers are evaluated internally. A strong AI focus and passion seem to help in progressing through the process. Don't hesitate to give them direct feedback.
