The interview process felt more like a phishing attempt than a genuine conversation. The focus was entirely on what my previous team had done—how much revenue they generated, what strategies were in place, and which techniques were used for feature selection.
An introductory call is supposed to be a two-way exchange: the company presents itself, the roles on offer, and the markets they operate in, while also learning about the candidate’s experience. This was the complete opposite. They did not share a single detail about themselves, the positions available, or the nature of their trading.
I have interviewed at firms like HRT, Jane Street, and Tower Research, and in comparison, this behavior is highly unprofessional and should be strongly discouraged.
