I had initially interviewed for another position. After completing the interviews for the other position, I received a call from one of my interviewers asking if I would like to interview for the position of Sr Compensation Analyst. I agreed and set up the meeting with the senior manager over this position. The interview was scheduled for the following week and lasted a half hour. Standard interview, though mostly listening to what the job entailed and my background. I received confirmation soon to interview with the VP in two weeks (as Thanksgiving was the following week). The call with the VP went well, also a half hour and general discussions about my background. Then, I had to wait about 2 weeks to get an update as the senior manager was out of office on vacation. After waiting 2 weeks, HR asked me to confirm my expected salary range, of which I promptly responded. By now, it was the week before Christmas. I sent some follow ups over the next few weeks asking if they needed anything further. I was told that a decision was still being made. It wasn't until after the new year I was finally informed that I was not receiving an offer (as I had to wait weeks, even considering the holidays, I had a feeling they were dragging me along in case their first choice declined the offer).
