Entrevista
Conducted a phone screen with the recruiter then a phone interview with the hiring manager. Interview went well, standard questions then a lot of talk about the requirements and how I would fill them. This ended with me being told there is one other candidate, but based on my resume and this conversation expect to hear back soon.
I then sent a follow up thank you with some information on some topics we discussed and got crickets. a few days later I resent this on LinkedIn and got a one word response a few days later, thanks. I have since reached out in a polite manner to the recruiter and the hiring manager inquiring about the status, again no response.
I do not mind if they selected the other candidate, that is their prerogative, however basic communication with candidates is common courtesy. It has now been about two weeks since the interview so I don't think the silence is due to some bad timing with PTO.
Overall the company and people I talked to seemed great, but the lack of emphasis on proper communication is disheartening.

Telephonic and In person. HR ensured my security clearance and initial paperwork was completed a week before the interview. One of the interviewers was not able to attend the interview and called in. They were looking for a particular type of skill-set ( I think more technical) PM, this would have been great to know before we got that far.

Entrevista
I applied online and received an email for a telephone interview a week later. I had 3 telephone interviews within a week with a recruiter/HR person, a business capture person who would be working with the new employee, and the supervisor for the new position. Conversations dealt with experience, past programs, briefing senior leadership, personality types... Fairly straightforward and a great deal of explanation of the role of the job they were trying to fill. The recruiter had no idea the business capture person had already called me. All of the conversations seemed to go pretty well. The supervisor said they were going to consult their government customer with the candidates...and then nothing. No email or telephone communication. I eventually emailed 3 1/2 weeks later and the HR person said they hadn't made a decision but she would check and get back to me. It's been almost another month and a half and not a single word from them. You would think after conducting 3 phone interviews in a week they would have to courtesy to give me some status, even if it was a form email saying they went a different direction. No communication is, I feel, a little rude and dismissive of my time.
