      Stressful Experience with Allegis Group and ScienceLogic — Poor Communication, Questionable Practices: I was approached by an Allegis Group recruiter about a contract-to-hire role at ScienceLogic. Despite expressing that I was under tight deadlines at my current job, I was strongly encouraged to complete an assignment, which I did in hopes of landing the position. After a positive interview process, I was told my offer was confirmed and even urged to negotiate with my current manager about early joining—I specifically stated I would only begin those discussions upon receiving a formal offer letter. Over the next three weeks, I followed up regularly but was told the offer was delayed pending budget approvals. During this time, I learned that Allegis charged ScienceLogic a significantly higher bill rate than what was offered to me, and only lowered it after pushback from the client, which is also 60% more than the salary i was offered.(this information was shared by the recruiter it self) which raised concerns about transparency and fairness. Eventually, after weeks of silence and mixed messages, I was informed that the budget was frozen and the position was on hold. Attempts to seek clarity from both the recruiter and her manager were met first with polite reassurances but, after the role was canceled, dismissive and even rude behavior ("this is just how business works"). When I reached out to ScienceLogic directly to express my disappointment, the recruiter immediately urged me to retract my email—a move that made me question the integrity of the whole process and confirmed my concerns that miscommunication and overcharging may have harmed my candidacy. Suggestion: Candidates deserve clear, honest communication and respect for their time and efforts. It is discouraging to encounter unprofessional practices such as pushing assignments with uncertain prospects, poor transparency about compensation. I would advise future candidates to clarify the state of the role and compensation early, and to be cautious about agencies that prioritize their margins over candidate experience.
