CV and online application form to apply. All in all I had three rounds of interviews within three weeks. After I had send my application, it took only two days before I was invited for the first interview. The one hour interview was pretty relaxed and was focused on my CV and my experience. The following week, I was asked to come back to present a small case study. The case study consisted of a similar research task that the analysts at AlphaSights deal with every day. I found it a great idea to get a better understanding of the work. After the 5 minutes presentation I discussed my presentation with the three interviewers. The interview took a bit over an hour and they asked the usual questions: understanding of the firm, the work, day to day tasks, my motivation etc... However, they also asked a lot about my personal life, which I liked. During the last interview, I was asked to meet the two Managing Directors. The interview was an intense conversation during which I was asked again about motivation, understanding of the job etc... Again, there was enough time for my questions. What I really liked and was fascinated me, was the fact that they made sure that I am the right person for them, but that they are also right for me. In the end, I got an offer, which I happily accepted.
All in all, the interview process was quick, but very thorough and intense. I met seven people during the interview process, which gave me the chance to already meet potential colleagues and see how I like their personalities. I appreciated that the interviews were conducted by a mix of Lead Analysts, Vice Presidents and Directors which gave me a good feeling for how a career at AlphaSights develops.
