Application process via the website answering a series of customary questions.
Several days after the application submission, I received a phone call from the HR manager. They enquired about my motivation to work for the company and made sure I was aware of their business model. At the end of the conversation, I was invited to meet two Lead Analysts at their office in order to have an informal discussion on my background, the role and the company.
The employees working at AlphaSights were all very friendly and looked passionate about what they do.
When describing the company and the role, I rapidly realised that the position was less about learning about a specific industry than connecting clients with industry experts, which was disappointing to me. Probably it would have been more appropriate to define the role as ‘Custom Recruitment Consultant’ rather than ‘Analyst’, which can be a deceptively misleading term.
I wasn’t invited to the second-round interview as the interviewers and I felt that the role didn’t meet my expectations.
Apart from that, the office is located in a vibrant neighbourhood and the working environment is very bright and casual.
