well, I belong to non-eea community and I needed sponsorship to work for an employer in the UK. Altus group called me in for an interview at their London location. The interview scheduling & feedback was all provided by their vendors which are based out of Canada. Had initial telephone screening with the vendor in Canada . Followed by a technical interview by Altus group over phone. They liked me and invited to London for a face to face interview. Well I travelled for 4-5 hours one way from the North to reach London and as soon as I reached there, one of the team member took me to the meeting room and started bombarding me with interview questions. Soon another interviewer entered the room and he added up. However, as I was sure of my skills, I was able to deal with it and I made it to the next round of interview after an hour of grilling. Then the second round of interview that day comprised of a Coding challenge, which I managed to do as well. It contained some piece of code which has some defects in it and I had to fix them. There after I was through to the final interview which was managerial cum behavioural interview. The interviewers were very calm and to the point. It lasted for another 1 hour. After this interview they told me, we would like to proceed with you and can offer sponsorship as well to work in the UK, based on the feedback from the technical interviews - which they will get after an hour or so. I was told to leave as the interview process was completed and they would inform their vendor through whom they conduct the hiring. I was on my way back to my home (travel back to the North) and I got the call from the vendor (Canadian) that he has got the feedback and they are really happy to offer you a role with them. Also, he mentioned Altus confessed that haven't seen as skilful a guy as me for the past one year. I was happy that I'll be getting an offer soon for them, as the vendor was in regular touch with me regarding the sponsorship too and next stages of onboarding. After 3 days, he reached out to me again (I expected normal call regarding offer letter). However to my shock he said Altus isn't able to progress with the offer as they have found someone local, who doesn't need a sponsorship. This I thought was highly unprofessional , as they had committed to offer me and been in touch regarding the next steps before abruptly retracting the offer. I would say it was a blessing in disguise for me as I'm working with a highly reputed company now and I'm glad that they retracted the offer. I can only say, think twice before giving your precious time to a company like this, which iss highly unprofessional. It was an horrible experience.
