Very brief interview. Initially I got an email after applying to the role saying they were impressed with my background but that they thought I was too senior for the role. I insisted I was still interested.
We had an initial call and the interviewer wanted to "get right to it" which felt really rude and impersonal. He then proceeded to ask me some really basic "describe a time where" interview questions. I felt like I was being interviewed by a robot. Absolutely no human desire to connect.
The role he then goes on to describe is a pretty senior NLP data scientist/data engineering role. Stark difference from the job description and the emails we had.
After about four questions he's rushing to get me off the call and I struggle to get a question in edgewise. Perhaps he made up his mind from the very beginning but the entire process was really unsettling and unwelcoming. He seemed annoyed that I even tried to ask about them.
I withdrew my candidacy after this initial call. The first time I've ever done this really.
