Candidatei-me por meio de recrutador(a). Fui entrevistado pela American Forests (Washington, DC) em out. de 2025
Entrevista
My interview was with two people, the hiring manager and another staff person with AF. The questions were quite robotic and stale but they loosened up when I was able to ask questions and we got to having a good conversation.

30 minute interview with recruiter. Asked questions about previous experience, specific short answer to technical skillset. Very relaxed conversation. Was referred to another interview the next week. They assigned interview time, did not ask availability.

I underwent the thirty minute screening interview. Interviewer seemed more interested in my political outlook than my career aspirations. They took months to follow-up, ultimately saying I did not make it to the next round. It was 5 months from application submittal to rejection after just one screening call. I really like what AF does on paper, but the interview process threw up major red flags, particularly how long it took to just reject me. I get the sense that the organization, or at least HR, is disorganized and poor communicators.

I was asked two questions: What is my interest and applicable experience, and what does DEI mean to me and how would I apply it in this role. I was also told that I would be required to provide proof of vaccinations. For the record, I don't have any issues with DEI or vaccinations, but it was odd to spend most of a short screening interview discussing these topics. It gave me the sense that AF is more concerned with hiring similarly politically-minded people than people who are passionate about forest conservation. The organization isn't even very diverse based on their Team page.
