      Entrevista

I found this job through my school's career center. I was called a day or two after I sent in my resume. They said they liked my resume and wanted to speak with me for a few minutes to explain more about the company and get to know me. I was asked what my strengths were and why. Then I was asked what I could bring to the company. The interviewer said I didn't sound like a fit for the company, but she scheduled me for a 1:1 interview anyway, which I thought was strange. I was told to bring a copy of my resume and 2 references. They didn't tell me how I should present my references to them or what information they wanted about the references. I had a printed copy with names, titles, company, phone numbers, and addresses just in case. I went to the interview a few days later. I got there about 15 minutes early and had some difficulty with the receptionist. She asked who I was scheduled to see and I told her that I was just told to sign in with person A. She didn't seem to understand and asked who scheduled my interview, again I said the only person's name I was told, which was person A. Finally, when I told her the time I was scheduled for she found my name. Then I was asked to fill out a form with basic information and there was also spaces for me to provide the names and numbers of my references. The form also had a section asking what are 5 traits that good leaders have and why. However, before I could finish that section they called me in ahead of my scheduled time. I explained to my interviewer, who ended up being person B not A, that I didn't get a chance to complete the form. She said it was ok because we would discuss that section in the interview anyway. The interview took all of maybe 10 minutes and was easy. No unexpected questions really, although we never spoke about the leaders section of the form. She asked if there was anything I was looking to avoid anything in particular in employment and I said I didn't want a negative work environment. I got the feeling they're looking for people who are open to anything and willing to put up with a lot. I was told there was a 5 stage process for the interview the second step being the 1:1 interview after the phone screening. She was pretty vague on the other steps of the process after that other than at some point I would most likely meet with her again, along with her boss for a more in depth interview. She said I I would receive a call between 3pm and 5pm that day if they wanted me to move along to the next stage. She didn't allow for me to ask any questions about the company itself just the interview process. I ended up leaving the interview 1 minute after the time my interview was originally scheduled for. There was a whole different set of people waiting to be interviewed with more people coming in. I didn't receive the call, but I was ok with that because it didn't seem like a company that I wanted to work for after doing more research about the company in preparation for my interview. The interviewer was really nice and personable, but she didn't seem like she had looked at my resume at all before the interview. Music was playing in her office and it continued to play during the interview. Then her cellphone went off and she let it continue ringing as we spoke. I found that to be pretty unprofessional but didn't let it distract me.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. Somehow this company got a hold of my resume, I don't remember how. They called me to talk about my qualifications, some brief questions about my management experience, what I'm looking for in my career. They scheduled me for a 15 minute interview later that week. When I got to the address they gave me, it was not actually American Income Life, but instead Altig-Overic or something. The man interviewing me in person was the same person who had contacted me over the phone, although he said he was regional manager over the phone, but in person was supposed to be the project manager. The company is in a VERY crappy office - the carpet must be 25 years old. However, the interviewer was dressed in a very expensive suit and tie. He asked again about my management experience, if I was growth oriented (probably said growth about 15 times), and what I was looking for in a career. He told me that his boss made $150k in his first year, and joined the board of directors in his second year. He then said that I made it to the third round of interviews, which was to happen at 1:00, which was when my interview ended. This third round was all of the people who had made it to the third round in a very crappy conference room, so that we could all ask questions at the same time, and they could see who stood out among all the others. I knew by then that this was NOT where I wanted to work, even if it was even remotely possible to honestly make that much your first year. The man wanted me to follow him immediately to the conference room, but I tried to get out of it as best I could, even though he made it very awkward. Please, please, don't waste your time unless you want to feel like you fell for some scam and wasted a page of expensive resume paper.

I applied through hawaiijobsondemand.com and the listed was minimal and said works with union workers and listed as entry level management with no company. Through an email reply soon after applying, the signature line shows AIL ALTIG. I replied with an interview time and date. Look up the address and shows a AIL office. RUN!! Glassdoor reviews shows that it is indeed a sales position. So I email the guy who set up the interview and ask if it is a entry level management or sale position of any type. He sends back a one line email saying it was a sales position. I replay back to decline the interview. Sorry but that kind of deception right off the back is enough for me to walk away from a company.

      Entrevista

I saw an ad for this business and emailed mr.no name (this person never disclosed their name) with my resume. I got a call from no name about an hour later where he asked me to come in for an interview at 10am on the following Tuesday. I agreed and hung up, and then received a text from no name explaining where the interview would be and that I needed to wear business attire. I realized that he had never told me his name. And the ad itself was very vague. I started to get skeptical, so I did my research and noticed that the agency he had paid to promote the ad had nothing to do with this actual company, it was a name to hide behind so people like you and I couldn't do a quick search and find all this dirt. Being who I am, I dug deeper. Hours into glass door reviews, I am convinced they tried to perform the same bait and switch method on me that they did everyone else. If they were honest with people upfront that they were really hiring for sales, they would never get any employees. Who wants to work for 100% commission? And travel with no compensation for it? They don't even pay for your licensing. Not to mention all the other crap you go through with them, just to lose out in the end. I decided to text no name and ask what position I am being interviewed for and if the interview would be one on one, or the group interview setting everyone seems to find themselves in with this company. He avoided the position question (ofcourse), and described a "3 step proccess" involving a group interview that I read all about here on glass door. That's all I needed to confirm my suspicion. Don't fall into the trap. This company is dishonest and misleading. I am not going to my interview scheduled for tomorrow. They won't be baiting and switching me. As for no name, well, he's still got no name, and still a jerk. I'd like to inform AIL that they missed out on a dedicated hard working employee (myself) through these dishonest actions. Get a back bone and stop trying to dupe people.
