I received an email for a Zoom interview shortly after I submitted a cover letter and resume (I applied by email.) The interview was approximately half an hour with the person who was the immediate supervisor for the position. Our conversation was helpful and productive, but I heard nothing for several days and weeks after, even when I sent a follow-up email. I assumed I did not get the position, and I feel it's unprofessional to neglect to inform a candidate they have not been selected once they start the interview process.
