This was perhaps one of the most surreal interview experiences of my life. I have worked in arts administration for decades, and the first half of my interview, I felt as tho the woman (an HR person) was merely firing buzzwords at me from some management guide. That's not who I am. If you want someone who gets the job done? That's me. You want someone who can discuss "pipeline" as a verb? You go elsewhere. Ultimately I am grateful for this review, as I had held Americans for the Arts in high regard but after this interview it was clear that it was not the place for me.
