Had a recruiter call and then a call with the CEO. He asked a ton of questions and didn't have deep marketing expertise. He said it would be the first role within marketing for the company. I didn't get past that stage which made me skeptical about if they were actually hiring for this role or looking for marketing ideas.

Entrevista
The interview was pretty standard. They gave me a prompt beforehand and asked me to prepare a presentation for a role play. I met with 6 different team members over the course of a 3 hour interview.
They didn't ask any questions that were weird or out of left field and I left the "virtual onsite" interview feeling positive.
I interviewed on a Monday and was told on Wednesday that they would have an update for me by end of week. Of course, they did not reach back out to me until the following Wednesday (over a week after I spent 3 hours of my day with them) to let me know that they were not moving forward with me.
They did attempt to give some "feedback", which was basically "the team loved you and you have professional strengths that would be a fit, but we went with someone else" - so nothing I can really apply and take into future interviews, so while very nice, not very helpful in the long run.
It's also worth noting that this company reached out to me asking me to interview for this role after I had interviewed with them about 6 months earlier for a different role which was given to an internal hire. It seems as if they need to hit an "interview quota" for open roles, and re-engaging with previous candidates that they have no intention of hiring might be a strategy to help them hit those numbers (total speculation on my part).

Entrevista
Had 4 rounds of interviews.
Each interview was scheduled out longer and longer apart (Ex: 1 week, 1.5 weeks, 2 weeks, etc). While I was willing and available to interview as frequently and as fast as needed.
During the final of my interview, I was to by one of the higher-ups that they'd definitely be recommending me for the final panel interview session. Didn't hear back from the EA/Recruiter for over a week. I ended up reaching out directly. Was then confirmed I moved to the next/final stage. I provided a list of availability and echoed my excitement. Got confirmed a time a week out (yet again). Day of the interview I get emailed that they went with another candidate who was further along and they appreciated me during the process. Pretty much was ghosted continuously through the process. Feel like the EA/Recruiter or someone internally purposefully pushed a candidate who was a friend (sped them through) instead of others. Seemed really unprofessional and a waste of time overall. I wish them success in the future but they really need to get a recruiter or HR department who knows how to properly coordinate and handle candidates.

While it’s not an excuse for the experience you received, we are occasionally overrun with scheduling conflicts and more extended periods between interviews. I also want to reassure you that we do not play favoritism with any candidates, including referrals/friends, and treat all candidates equally.
