Had initial interview with recruiter and that went great. They said that my background was perfect and put me in contact with the hiring manager. Hiring manager said the same thing that my background was very impressive and put me through to the final onsite meeting. Met with the HR and another VP. I asked the VP directly if I met the qualifications for the job and they said yes. Then got an email a few days later saying that they were passing on me because they wanted to change the job description and that they were looking for someone more "junior" that they could mold and would be starting their search from scratch. Why wouldn't you want a candidate that has the experience to do the job? Sounded like a phishing expedition to me.
Things were going well until communication just stopped. They asked me to send over responses to a few questions, which I did, but I never heard back. A bit surprising, especially since I was referred for the role. It doesn’t reflect well on their recruiting team. Sending a quick follow-up isn’t hard.

Excellent experience from start to finish, Mark and Mandy’s engagement and support through the process was outstanding. The interview panel were amazing. Really open and two way conversations with everyone.

Everything was going fine till the recruiter decided to go silent. Please have the decency to at least inform your candidates whether they are proceeding to the next steps or not.
