There was no recruiter phone screening or interview, which is very strange considering that is usually the first step to make sure the expectations are aligned from both parties. Although the recruiter is very kind and helpful in coordinating the process, so I'm grateful for that. The first interview was with the Director of Product, it felt very intrusive and disrespectful overall in just the first 5 minutes of meeting. One example here for context, I started taking notes as they were giving an overview of the role, and immediately was asked if I am using an AI bot and if so they are going to end the interview at the moment. It's a false assumption and throws off the conversation and it felt very disrespectful, then there is no apology afterwards for such comment made. So off to a negative vibe. If I put myself in the interviewers position and I remotely sensed the interviewee MIGHT be using some sort of AI bot, I would not accuse them of it because I don't know if thats true (and tbh you can tell if they are using a bot just by the way they talk, it's obvious and no I don't think you should use AI during an interview anyway), I would at least say something like "our corporate policy is against the use of any AI assistant during an interview" or something that is professional, instead of just making a false assumption, and NOT apologize afterwards after I clearly stated I'm taking notes. It's not professional. And then things just went downward spiral. It felt more like an interrogation than an interview in just the 5 minutes we spoke.

One 30 minute screening with the recruiter, mostly giving me background on the company, very friendly. Second round with the hiring manager. Asked about experience, no technical questions. Thought it went well, but was rejected after this round
